No. Spp. Sex, age, Bdg, misc VII 3 0130 P. boylii, ♂, mature, testes swollen but not scrotal 5 0140 P. boylii, ♀, mature, pregnant (palpable embryos). Pulled a small spherical [illegible] brown mass from vagina - 0. One side has reddish coloring. The animal escaped to the Neotoma midden adjacent 6 0200 P. boylii, ♂, mature, testes scrotal but very soft 7 788 P. californicus, ♀, late subadult, nulliparous. Missing last 5 mm of tail, other wise dark tip 8 210 P. boylii, ♂, early mature, nonbreeding 7 caught together 8 220 P. boylii, ♂, mature, testes intermediate in same trap 9 notag N. fuscipes, let this one go untouched. Looked like subadult 10 230 P. boylii, ♀, mature, nonbreeding, parous. Lost rear of tail VII 10 240 P. boylii, ♂, mature, testes close to breeding. I started clocking the grid at 0610hr, and didn't finish until 1045 hr. 4 Cooper's hawks were perched in the live oak at station 8, 5. Two of the animals looked like juveniles (smaller, more white feathers on body), but it needed binoculars to tell for sure. They weren't bothered by me in any noticeable fashion. Anyway, summary of captures (see grid data sheets for complete account). P. californicus Total Captures: 25 (13 ♂, 12 ♀) Recaptures: 16 New animals: 9 P. boylii Total Captures: 26 (11 ♂, 15 ♀) Recaptures: 15 New animals: 11 N. fuscipes Total 11 (5 ♂, 6 ♀) Recaptures: 3 New: 8 P. truei Total 3 (1 escaped), all new (2 ♀) M. californicus. Total ≈ 3, all new (3 ♀) Perognathus californicus - 1 Total Captures: 69 Caught 1 animal in snap trap, same location as June 25 snap traps. [#727] P. boylii, ♂, mature, nonbreeding.
