at upper narrows, a
large ridge of sandy slate
dip 55 N 20 W. no fossils
For the distance of 3 miles
the same slate is exposed along
the shore of the lake until
the inlet is reached.
At four slate ridges appear on
the river. The dip is 65 N 20 W
and the rocks of the same
character as that on this
lake.
Reached Jackman town
supper.

Montreal reaching there
