May 22 - New York Weather cloudy, and rather cold last wind. In spite of this, birds are numerous. From 5:05 to 6:05 noted: Robin 11 (on sitting on nest 5 feet up on branch of small tree); Redstart 6; Purple Grackle 7; Parula Warbler 2; Baltimore Orioles 5; Brown Thrasher 1; Grey-cheeked Thrush 2; Wilson Thrush 1; Olive-backed Thrush 1; Nighthawk 1; Black-poll Warbler 1; Black Duck 9 (including 7 and here brood of 5 downy young); Myrtle Warbler 2; Canadian Warbler 3; Waterthrush 1; Magnolia Warbler 1; Least Flycatcher 1; Maryland Yellowthroat 1; unknown 1. Total 19 species and 57 individuals for one hour. A little later saw an Ovenbird, Blackburnian Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Black-throated Blue Warbler, and Chimney Swift. Total 24 species.
