Apr. 27 - La. 19 flight show up-and-down rudder-like motion of this member; females much smaller, with shorter tails and not so iridescent; one was seen carrying nest material over the house-tops ); Red-winged Blackbird (at least six over the lakes bordering the Park at one end, forging at edge of Mississippi River ); yellow-billed Cuckoo (just got acquainted with two, three following up their notes - so startlingly like those of roadrunner!); Vireo, possibly white-eyed (at least 3 in oak tops, singing almost continuously, very vireo-like, but not like any I've known before ); Cardinal (a ? just came thru the trees close by, showing all chief diagnostic features ); Warblers (several in tree tops, not for sure recognizable; that I saw Redstart and Creekear, but not sure ).
