Apr. 25 Texas Scores Ravens all along, 15 in one bunch; but 4 meadowlarks, Mourning Doves; 4 English Sparrows at Lobo; several Prairie Dogs stood upright at mouth, 7 wounds. Only cattle country as far as we can se 4:00 - 4:15 p.m. - Passano to Alpine. Can over a slight divide: Lower Sonoran on West Upper Sonoran on East side; then, rain-bearing winds from East, toward Gulf of Mexico. From crest of divide down a ways toward Alpine, hills and gullies studded with oaks (small) junipers, with short dead grass overgrowth Then more prairie, yellow short grass. Many Ravens, Mourning Doves and Blackbirds. 5:13 p.m. - Marathon, alt. 4043 ft.; hill, prairie; grass (dry), scattering cactus & yucca. And again; no stream courses Have seen scores of Prairie Dogs,
