June 2 Boston 99 The types in the letter are mostly in MCZ. Then there is a very good zoological library, about 5th in America. The Boston Society is very old and has had a series running a long time, so that many of the old series have come to it by exchange. Dr. M. Allen is Secretary of Bost. asst ice., as well as Curator of mammals at MCZ, working alternate days at the two places. saw mounted two Oystercatchers but by Daniel Webster, a sample of my many other historical and record specimens. They have two Labrador Ducks, but only skeletons and "fossil" eggs of Great AuK. In mammals there are many single mounts of New England species, but not really any study material.
