Away up on the mountain side
we saw 3 bears feed around. They
were about 1000 ft. above us and as
we had nothing to eat we felt too
weak to make the climb so we
went back, broke camp and started
back to the camp on the first lake.
There was a strong southeast wind
blowing and me could scarcely
make it back as the snow began to
slip water. It began to rain so fur.
Littlejohn started down towards camp
at Mole Harbor at 5 o'clock in the
evening. We only had 3 miles to go
but we soon got lost in the thick
wood and the first things we knew
we were going in a circle and were
hopelessly lost. We wandered around
for two hours and finally decided
to followed a creek down to the beach.
We stumbled along thru the rocks and
water until we were worn out
and it began to get darks. Just as we
were going to camp and stop for the
night we came out on the beach right
near camp.
