We went back after the eagle
nest today but found that the crows
had swiped the eggs. I saw 4 black
turnstones but failed to get any.
I shot a Sandwich sparrow on the
island and Mr. Littlejohn found a
crow nest with one egg in it. He shot
a marbled murrelet and a rock duck
on the way over. Miss Alexander bought
another nice fresh brown bear skin
for $35 today. The fur was fine and
silky but not nearly as dark as
the other.

Took a ♀ Townsend Sparrow with nest
and 4 slightly incubated eggs today. The
nest was the one that I found a week
ago today. A rufous hummingbird was buzzing
around four bright red tomato cans around
camp this morning. Mr. Littlejohn secured
2 & crossbills in good breeding condition
this morning before breakfast. Found
a red-breasted nuthatch building this
morning. Lots of snow slides today.
