Of the upper part of the Richmond
section of the preceding section, in
preceding page is equivalent to the
Madison then the Lamar Silurian
age of the Madison is abundantly
proved by the many Siren Dolo
mite fossils.
This is however very unlikely, since
farther west, there where the river
after flowing a little north I next
turns north, and after 2 miles reaches
the mouth of Wolf Creek. The Madison
is seen well exposed, the basal thick
bedded layers and the overlying thin-
bedded layers being just as character-
istically developed as in any pre-
vions section. It is very unlikely that
in such a short distance the Madisi
on beds should leave entirely but
their characteristic features, and
then have resumed them again
a short distance farther on. This
is the section at the bend of the river
2 miles S. of Wolf Creek:

The Madison continues to be ex-
pessed in well recognizable form
up the river as far as within 3 miles
of Green or Drown bar.
