These towkees are found commonly around the luecthorn and mayanita bushes on the south facing slope at Bear Valley Dam 7000 ft San Bernardino Mts. San Bernardnia Co., California., and are easily caught in mouse traps baited with rolled oats.

One individual observed in the underbrush bordering the meadow in Round Valley at 6500 ft. San Joaquin Mts., Riverside Co. Calif.
