September 8, 1929 This chipmunk was observed commonly in the San Jacinto Mts., on the Trail from Idyllwild to the summit of San Jacinto Peak, from 5500 ft. to 9300 ft. on the forest floor, usually around the cingua fir, manganita, and buckthorn bushes.
