moore. Lynx rufus californicus September 8, 1929 A single individual was observed about two miles north of Jadguty Valley, on the Idyllwild to San Gorgonio Peak Trail, at approximately 10:30 A.M. San Gorginto Mts., Riverside Co., Calif. The animal did not appear startled when observers approached, and made off up the hill at a gentle bad-like trot. The southeastern slope of the San Gorginto slope, is extremely rocky country, with large masses of granite rock projecting from the hillside every few hundred feet, and seems a very suitable place for these animals to live.
