Barbs 1958 Zonotrichia leucophrys 5. Oct. 1 Berkeley, U.C. Campus, Alameda Co., Calif. This this kind is now 4 1/2 years old. Late had another banded bird, 24-180303, ad. plumage. Was landed as a merlin Apr. 8, 1957, at SE corner of Univ. + Fultor (Oxford) Ave's, Berkeley. After dark had a third bird - took him home to band with 24-180321. Bird was released at 2214 Harte St. Oct. 2 Another bird into another trap, 24-180322, this bird showed a large number of feathers in sheath on the rear of the crown. Oct. 3 Banded 24-180323 in p.m. Had 1 or 2 pin feathers on throat, no molt on head. Crown stripe seemed narrow and white feathers were somewhat dark tipped. Oct. 5 Retrapped 24-180322 in same trap. I did not now see any sign of molt on head. Late got 23/251601 again, in different trap than before. Oct. 6 Some birds escaped from traps today. Caught 180321 on Bancroft, after had released him at home. 1950 Pebble Beach, Sea Level, San Mateo Co., Calif
