Apheleoma ultramarina
Feb. 3 - Madera Camp Ground, Madera Canyon, Santa Rita Mts., Santa Cruz Co., Ariz.
This bird collected by J.L. Brown on this date. Kept captive in Berkeley until it died during the summer. Frozen until Nov. 29, 1958, when it was prepared as a skeleton, PCB 378. At that time it had testes 15mm., wt. 87.2 gm.
Another caught this date, died Dec. 4, 1959. It was adult when captured, acc. T Brown, probably hatched in 1956 or earlier. It was a ♀, with inactive ovary. Moltig. Frozen until Dec. 24, 1959, when it was skeletonized by PCB, # 711.
A third bird held captive by Jerry Brown died Feb. 1, 1960. It had been captured about the same time and place as the previous two. It was a ♂, testes about 5mm. PCB 715
