Bradley, Alamecla C., Calif. - 5 swifts flying around the building on the NW corner of Bancroft and On the N side of the building there are 2 holes leading into the tile roof. Similar holes face all along the E and S edges of the roof. The swifts were flying around the N side, occasionally entering the holes on the N side. For a while there were only 3 birds in the air, and sounds indicated that 2 birds were in the holes. During this period one of the holes already occupied, and 2 birds would leave the hole almost at once.
They seemed to me only 2 of the 5 holes.

This morning I saw only one swift flying in the area and it did not go near the N side of the building. However, I heard swift-like sounds apparently coming from a hole or holes on the E side, near the S.E. corner.
