Branta nigricans
June 22, Bolinas, Duxlerry Reef, seaweed, Marin G. Califf - a flock of 60 +/- 2 were seen along the edge of this reef this morning. Smaller flocks had been seen during the past week. These birds today were very tame, some allowing me to walk to within 10 ft (or less) of them. They were feeding on Ulva lactuca, sea lettuce. All birds seemed to be in rather worn plumage.
Daniel & Miller -sight occasional birds in summer, in poor condition, and main food eelgrass. (p.69)
