Vicinity of Bolinas, sea level - 300+ft., Manly's Cliff.
June 29 During the past week I have seen Bonbyalla
cedronum. Also remember to put Larus occidentalis
on the list. Yesterday drove to Dillon Beach,
didn't see anything unusual. Today from 8:30 to
4:30 AM collected 4 White-crowns, Saw three
Band-tailed pigeons again. Redwings are in
large flocks. Also during the week saw
Fulica americana.
July 9 Added Caspian Tern to the list. Got another White-
crown today. Have seen Pelecanus occidentalis
off and on since I was here. Also have seen
Phalacrocorax pelagicus.
July 20 More birds that I have not added at the
proper time: Phasianus colchicus, Bandian,
Leucophyx thula (seen July 26 on way home, 2),
Haematopus bachmani (at Throckery Reef, about
June 30 or July 1), Geo. Fisher reported Gulls
(Lumanus) and "peeps" on the island in
Bolinas Lagoon, and I have heard Gulls
several nights.
Aug 6. Big Meadows, 6500ft., Calaveras Co., Calif. On a
trip with Jim Anderson and Ned Johnson. Left
Berkeley @ 3:15 AM. Stopped at 9.2 mi W Altaville
just after dawn, + I shot a bat (Tadarida),
one of a great many flying around. Reached
Big Meadows about 08:20. In an hour + less, I
collected 1 Saurornis occidentalis and 1 Oporornis
