Richmondia cardinalis Oct. 25 & Side Isla Ciencho, Baja California, Mexico. - First spotted a ♀ of this species a fair distance away in a fairly dense bush about 8 ft. tall. Shot her with a no. 9. While I was standing near that bush some 5 minutes later, a ♂ came in and landed within a loud chirp close to me. Bob Crupper also shot a ♀, and a ♂ was associated with it. This bird (the ♂, my no. 860) had an ossified window anteriorly in the skull, so I judge it to be miniature. Both mine were adult. All three birds were molting, my ♂ replacing primaries.
