Vicinity of Bolinas, sealed - Marin Co., Calif.
June 15-22 cont'd.
Northern Sea Lions (?) was here. On the beach saw what appeared to be mole rats.
Land around the area there are a lot of birds,
Cyrnus corax, C. brachyrynchus, Cassinadinis
albua, Nycticorax nycticorax, Hylocibla ustulata,
Eupagus cyanophalus, Capudans moricanus,
Passer domesticus, Petrochida pyrolonata,
Hirundo Rustica. Wailers, too, are here, but I
haven't identified any but Lonchoria aestiva
and possibly Wilsonia pusilla also have seen
Nuttallonis lorealis, Buteo janacani, and
probably others I don't recall. Zanidura
maurona Gularla fasciata (3 of these)
Lophortyx california and Stania stellate
are among there.
June 24. Geo and I drove around the Mesa
(as this area is called) and missed 1 Zonotrichia
Many others heard. Al Zeigler gave me a Molospiza
he trapped today - a first-year bird (min 8').
A couple birds I forgot to put on list, but are
Archnotonus occidentalis and Melanrtha perspicillata
and Cathartes aura. Bill Hamilton reported Banks
and Rough-winged swallows. Also sawa Cyanocitta
stelerii.
