Calpte costae
Oct.27 E side Isla Cerralvo, Baja Caly., Mexico. - For the last 2 days have seen hummingers, but could not name them. Today Bob shot a Costa H., which did not have all the blue on crown + throat. It had great layers of subcutaneous fat [illegible]. The skull was ossified only occipitally.
Oct.29 Took one bird today, in plumage similar to the one mentioned before. This one, however, weighed over 1 gram less and had no fat.
