Banks 1960 Journal 36. Oct. 28 E side Isla Cerralvo, Baja Calif., Mexico of a high point to the N, but not very far's a peak extends up pretty high. Directly opposite our arroyo there is a similar one. It too appears to be well vegetated, with many side arroyos. In all regards it does not seem to be much different from ours, except it is perhaps more extensive, and the ridge may be more accessible. Bib reached the ridge independently a few hours before I did, by another route. We both estimated the elevation on the ridge, directly behind our arroyo, to be 1500 ft., but that's only a guess. On my return to camp, took a dip in the ocean, & after supper put up the tombee. Set a mouse trap near our food supply, & put one mouse caught there. Until the time of this writing, have caught 7 mice in that trap (Peromyscus, q.v.) Set 3 other traps near camp, but that's all I have out tonight. Today was warm, not very muggy. Birds: Raven Sparrow Hawk Turkey Vulture Red Tailed Hawk Brown Pelican Black Throated Sparrow Snowy Egret (one flew past; seen from high point dog shack) Woodruffbird Ash-Throated Flycatcher Vermi Blue-gray Gnatcatcher Ground Dove White Winged Dove Loggerhead Shrike Osprey Snowy Egret
