Banks 1960 Journal 34 Oct.27 & mile Isla Cerralvo, Baja Calif., Mexico - Up early to check the traps. Had 6 Peromyscus, 1 Baugnathus, lost 1 trap, the string broke + the trap gone. Spent most of the day in camp shrimping. Re-set the traps in late afternoon, moved 5 rat traps to a ridge just N of camp. Bob brought in a Costa Hummingbird. also, Bob found water, several puddles, in the N fork of the arroyo, beyond where I had been yesterday, and collected Bufo punctatus ad. + tadpoles. Birds seen today: Turkey Vulture Blue Gray Catatka Raven Sparrow Hawk Rock Wren Mockingbird Loggerhead Shrike Ground Dove White-Winged Dove Brown Pelican Black-Throated Sparrow Silva Woodpecker Western Gull After dark walked along the beach for a ways, then hunted up the canyon for an hour. It was much too bright moonlight (5 moon) and too windy. Thought I heard a horned owl way off, but not sure. Today was very calm, the breeze down the arroyo not starting til dark. Yesterday this happened too, but also all day the wind blew up the canyon. Oct.28 Accidentally slept late, till 6:15, this morning. Checked the traps, both lines, immediately. In the 5 rat traps I had 4 Peromyscus, 2 chewed badly, in the other line had 2 " . Put up 1, + stuff left from yesterday,
