In the afternoon met Richard Ethridge, Ph.D from Mich., on second post-doctoral year at USC with Savage. He has done lots collecting on Cerro Alto and is going this trip to the Sierra to the Cape. He is working on Iguanid systematics via skeletal approach — similar to some of Bob’s thoughts. He put Scaphiopus couchii + Perognathus on Cerralvo. Today was less cloudy than the past few days. Oct. 24 Dawned bright & clear. We were supposed to leave for Cerralvo at 8 ±, but didn’t finally set away till after 11 a.m. The entire day was spent in the trip. We didn’t land on the island until almost dark.
