Sheaths on distal and posterior cranial area.
Entire central with 5 or less grown feathers, few
or more without soze trace of sheath. 3 rst. inner
midl sec. cov. w/sheath,-1/2 grown. 3 minor sec. &
greater covs. also w/sheath, in length of feather >>8>>9.
Other wing some; lower coverts also w/sheath.
Most of upper back + a little of lower with sheaths.
Grown 54-C. Band 24-180327. Cage worn condition
makes it difficult to tell if feathers old or new. On crown,
sheaths only anterior to eyes, + these just broken.
All facial tract, incl. supercilium, with sheaths.
Ventral tract with sheaths anterior to only. Cranial
w/sheaths posterior + distal - 1 aut. No sign that
lack rectrices were molted. A few under sec. covs.
w/sheath and rem's, or upper covs. Cannot tell if they
have been replaced. Sheaths on dorsum only
on aut. 1/3 , not on neck's feathers about 1/2 grown.
Bird caught this AM by Pearson. Crown 54-C. Band 24-180328.
Most yellow feathers in sheath, as are rest + neck,
& more posterior now fully grown. No sheaths on rt.
wing. On @ left, sec. 8 with sheath, 9 gone.
No coverts in sheath. No sign of lack-rectrix change.
Ventral central molt only anteriorly.
Apr.12 6 Log Drive, Ouida, Contra Costa Co., Calif. - Head, tail, & wing
of a bird. Central rectrices appear to have been replaced
feathers
No sheaths on any wing feathers, or remiges or coverts.
Crown (5C) has sheaths on only a few feathers of aut. 1/3.
