Banks 1968 Contopus richardsonii June 9 Bozard campground, 5600 ft., Lassen Co., Calif. - Am listening to an evening song, which I believe is this species. Have heard it for the last several evenings at various places. It consists of 4 or 5 notes followed by a typical pee-pee sound. / pee-pee / slow rapid slow or -- rapid -- slow June 13 Sand Flat, 6800 ft., Mt. Shasta, Siskiyou Co., Calif. I have heard this evening song here also. The birds here stay very high in the trees, which are quite tall. There seems to be no understory flycatcher. June 18 Elkh Lake, Deschutes Co., Oregon - This species is not common here - in fact there are few flycatchers during type. Have seen the birds only right in camp, and at Sparks Lake. They are not out in the forest.
