June 17 Elkh Lake, Deschutes Co., Ore. - There is a marshy area of about 1 acre near the campground on the W side of the lake. A chorus of Bufo from bee and other spots around the camp. While inspecting what I thought was the entrance to a mouse burrow, I saw a toad in it. It was wedged in firmly - depth of posterior about 3 inches. It was facing out. The hole was not a mammal hole - it just fit the toad. REB 820.
June 18 Sparks Lake, 4520 ft., Deschutes Co., Ore. - A chorus of toads from this lake about 8:30 or 9 am. - extremely loud.
