June 11 Pyramid Campground, 5600 ft Larson Co., Calif.
Nothing in my traps. Walked this morning thru
the woods to the W, back along the stream. Little
activity in the forest - there is more in camp. Now
just after noon, and I am ready to move on.
Following species heard in this camp or nearby:
Herps: Pyla regila Bufa loreas Thamnophis sp.
Mammals: Eutanasia sp. Citellas sp. Citella lateralis
Coyote Deer Chickaree Marmot
Birds: Red tailed Hawk (2) Mallard (gr.)
Killdeer Morning Dove Thorned Owl (4)
Nighthawk Belted Kingfisher ? Flicher
Hairy Woodpecker Yellow-Billed Sapsucker
Empidonax trailii (1), hammondii, & sp.
Western Wood Pewee One-Sided Flycatcher
Tree Swallow Steller Jay Mt. Chickadee
Pygmy Nuthatch Brown Creeper House Wren
Robin Hermit Thrush Ruby Crowned Kinglet
Yellow-Warbler Audubon Warbler Pileolated Warbler
Warbling Vireo Brewer Blackbird Cordind

Cassin Finch, Green-tailed Towhee, Oregon Junco,
Chipping Sparrow, Brewer Sparrow, White-Crowned

Drive west, past the north side of Larson Park.
Drive into Butte Creek area, toward Butte Lake,
but found no suitable area. On to Hat Creek
Valley, where I stopped for 1/2 hr. at the ranch
