Journal Mar. 30 Colorado River, off Ft. Mohave, 500+ft, Clark Co., Nevada My traps this morning had 4 Peromyscus, 2 leylai and 2 apparent maniculatus. One of each species had a lot of hair gone on the rump and tail. Out to shoot birds by 7AM. Things were slow. Finally got a ? Pipruchaphus rufulus and later a ?, both out of cottonwood. Also got a Centurus wrappialis from a cottonwood snag. Put up birds shot yesterday and today, other species seen today were: Melopiza melodica, Thyromanes lenisii, Veninora luciae, Myiarchus cinereascens, Amipans floricops, Pendrocopes sealis, Pipilo aleri, Ardea herodias, and Cormorants, Gulls, and An. egret, the latter also seen yesterday. Also Cottontails ana. Just before dark set a few more traps around camp, and very shortly had a Perognathus near a hole in the sandy soil, near the river. Warmer tonight than last, and we saw a couple rats in camp. It's been a beautiful day, with just enough breeze to keep the mosquitoes away + keep it comfortably warm. By 8:45 caught the second Perognathus, a ?, outside the same hole as the other. Mar.31 Had one Perognathus, 1 Peromyscus maniculatus and one Peromyscus both leylai. Out hunting by 7:30. First shot a Myiarchus out of cottonwood, later a Pendrocopes sealis and a Vervivica andulini also out of cotton-woods. Shot an Amipans from a mesquite. Finally, after a long chase through the brush,
