Barho 1954 23, Zonotrichia leucophrys June 15 1 mi S Shore Acres, 500+ft., 600 S. Oregon As I was walking up the slope thru the brush, 538 flushed & perched in a Rhododendron. 539 was one of 2 chipping birds - I think they hard young out of the nest. There is another pair of birds very close here - they keep getting mixed up, so I can't tell which is which. Saw barely flying young in an area which seems midway between the 2 pairs. 2 mi S Shore Acres, 700+ft., 600 S. Oregon Continued on this trail until nearly dark. June 16 543 sang from the top of a charred stump. It's mate flushed & immediately disappeared. 544 was chipping in alarm, very close to the site of collection of 539. I believe it is one of the other pair mentioned above. This is just within the large valley. 545 was one of 2 birds in what seemed to be courtship behavior. A bird flushed from under a log, and flew to a small ravine. It was joined in chipping there by at least 2 others, one of which sang occasionally. I am beginning to wonder if some of these birds nest in threesome. Or
