Banks 1959 Spizella pusilla Oct 3, 3.6mi N, 1.8mi E Alpine, 4950ft, Plumas Co, Calif. Obtained one bird here in sage brush, near scattered pine and a grass flat. It was associated with Junco oreganus, Zonotrichia leucophrys gambelii, Sialia currucoides, which were all feeding in the grass and sage. The bird had an ossified skull, was very fat, when weighed 13.9gm. There were other small Spizella type sparrows in the area.
