Chordeiles minor
2.
June 28 Kye Bay, Comox, Vancouver Island, B.C.
A bird flushed from the ground ahead of me
with a very peculiar flight. On a slightly
raised area without vegetation there was a
little cleared area containing one egg, which
was warm. There was a part of a broken
shell a few inches away. The egg was
next to a rock about 1½ x the size of the
egg. Can hear another bird flying
peeping, and the one that flushed just
flew past me and landed on a fence post
25 yds. away.
