Goldfinch Cliff Swallow Killdeer Nighthawk (nest) Yellowthroat White-crowned Sparrow Robin W. Wood Pewee Rice Biskini There is an active Bald Eagle nest on Simon's property, but I did not see birds. Drove into Comox, next to visit Head Bear, who knows both Simon & Mrs. Knight. Talked with him for about an hour, had tea & cookies, she gave me a bag of cookies. Met his wife. They are both old, over 80, but still active. From here went to visit H.M. Lang, who lives near Pease's, had supper with him. From his window observed Osprey, Great Blue Heron, and Yellow Warbler, Violet-green Swallow nest in a box on his porch. He is in his early 70's, has a collection of about 2000-2500 birds. Picked out 10 breeding White-crowns to borrow. He is strictly the old-time outdoorsman Dusky-sided Towhee Ring-necked Pheasant Calif. Jacal (chicks) Barn Swallow Crow Raven Chick-lacked Thrush Redwing Mourning Dove Violet-green Swallow Heavy Woodpecker
