Perognathus parvus
July 24 6 mi N E Virginia City, 6000 ft, Storey Co., Nevada
a ♂, number 62, was caught at the side of a round rock
about 18 inches in diameter in the midst of a bare area
about 8 feet across. This area was surrounded by sage
in which was scattered many Pinus monophylla, juniper
and occasional Ceanothus. I had 60 traps out and this
was the only pocket mouse caught.
July 25 Single immature specimen (♂ 68) was caught in an open
sandy spot beneath a rock in the midst of sage brush and
pinion. This was only one caught although I had out 88
traps.
