June 19
Barrow, Alaska
Upon an approach the owl flew away; it
did not stay within the area. No behavior
was seen which would indicate that it
was staying.
A short while later in Central Marsh
another snowy owl was seen on a mound.
Many small shore birds were constantly
circling the owl.
June 21
An old owl pellet was picked up on a
mound about 200 yards south of line
X. Upon investigating the pellet it was
noticed that a bird band was protruding
half way out (No. 27....) The rest of the
shimber is hidden in the pellet which
was saved as it was found.
June 23
One snowy owl seen seated on mound
in north end of Central Marsh.
July 8
Owl seen perched on mound just
north of transect FF B. While I was
setting out the trapline, the owl flew
about 300 yards east and land. Then
as I proceeded to set the traps, the owl
got up and flew off in a westerly direction.
July 9
Owl seen perched across slough
opposite transects FF A and FF B
July 12

the point at frequent intervals, has reported
