July 17 Pitt Point, Alaska
not feeding on anything but just sittins my presence flushed them, whereupon they all flew off to the north.
July 19 Today was a very foggy day, and Dennis a walk on the beach about three gulls were seen, each one independently flying low along the coast line.
July 28 Barrow, Alaska
A group of 200-250 gulls seen seated on tundra just NE of transects I and II; another group of 50-100 in the large lake south of Barrow and next to the garbage dump.
July 29 Same group of about 200 gulls seen by lakes NE of transect I and II
July 30 Same group of gulls seen in same locality on shore of two large lakes just NE of transects I and II.
July 31 Same group of 200-300 gulls still present by the two lakes
Aug 8 Cape Simpson, Alaska
About a dozen gulls seen today. The reason they are around is probably connected with the abundant supply of garbage on the beach.
Aug 16 Wainwright, Alaska
Few gulls, about four, seen during course of the days.
