Pomarine jaeger
Wainwright, Alaska
During the course of the day, most
of which was spent in the field, 2
pomarine jaegers were seen flying overhead
goin NW; two were seen staying
in the area hunting and one solitay
one seen flyin north.
In the afternoon (about 1900) a group of
eight pomarins were seen flyin east.
June 11
During the course of the day one pomarine
was seen huntin in the area, two
other flyin high in a NW direction
and one flyin low in a Westerly direction
June 12
While retrievin traplines I and II, I
noticed at one time eight gomarine
huntin in the vicinity at one time –
all were well apart from one another.
They then headed in a NW direction.
In all about 15 jaegers were seen today.
June 14
Two pomarine jaegers noticed while
chickin trapline in mornings. Two
more seen on afternoon walk. All in
all there are very few jaegers present around
Wainwright.
June 17
Barow, Alaska
Two Pomarins observed hunting but not
settling in the area.
