E. M. Brock 1958 Buff-breasted Sandpiper June 14 Barrow, Alaska Bill Maker, on this date, shot and prepared a study skin of a Buff-breasted sandpiper. August 4 Saw one Buff-breasted Sandpiper today for the first time near the mouth of Wolschlag Slough. August 5 Saw two buff breasted sandpipers in dumps area behind A.R.H. near fresh lake. Both were collected and prepared as study skins. August 6 While going out to check traplines, shot another buff-breasted Sandpiper. Then started to notice that they were suddenly extremely common. Then, when checking the traplines, found that two had been taken in the traps. August 4 was the first day I started noticing them. In all about a dozen of these birds were seen today. Aug 7 Cape Simpson, Alaska Many buff-breasted sandpipers are being seen at this locality also. Aug 11 Barrow, Alaska These Sandpipers are still present at Barrow. Several were seen when I went out to retrieve the traplines.
