M. Brock 1958 Red-backed Sandpipers June 4 Barow, Alaska Today begins the first day available to check the tundra after my arrival at Barow yesterday, I have noticed that the dunlins are one of the few birds common on this date. The tundra here at Barow is still well covered with snow. July 8 Two fledgling chicks seen tumbling over the tundra after adult was noticed in process of guiding me away. Actually I would have run over them with the weasel if I hadn't noticed the adult. July 9 Three fledgling chicks seen tumbling over tundra in both area, nearly same locality of yesterday's observations: July 16 Pitt Point Alaska Adult noticed leading one chick Aug 29 Barow, Alaska One subadult removed today from trap in transect H B
