E.M. Brock 1958 Semi-palmated Sandpiper Wainwright, Alaska June 10 Pair of birds were observed going through actions which were probably courtship displays. One bird would hold both wings straight in the air while walking about. June 14 Nest discovered with two eggs in it while female went into distraction display of limp wings and ruffled feathers and dragging tail. In its distraction attempt it approached to a distance of less than four feet from where I was standing.
