E.M. Brock 1958 King Eiders July 25 Banow, Alaska The following list is a census of ducks shot this week by people at the duck camp: 299 or King eiders, 25 or Pacific eiders, 6 & Spectacled eiders, 1 red-throated loons, one or Pintail and five thick-billed murres. This is a count of the ducks present at the camp today. The eskimos are always removing some back to Banow Village so that this is not a summarization of a weeks kill but just a total of ducks present in the camp when I counted them and they were probably all killed within the week. Aug 8 Cape Simpson, Alaska Today is extremely windy and foggy. The wind is from the east and there have been large flocks of ducks (except which eiders I don't know) passing by the cape all morning.
