Pacific Loon
2
Pitt Point, Alaska
was about 10" deep. The island was
about 200 to 300 feet from the nearest
shore. As we approached the island,
the loon insisted on staying on the
nest until we were about 200 feet from
her.
Also on the island was a duck's nest which
contained two fresh eggs, which had very
recently been broken (but not eaten).
