M. Brock 1958 Journal Aug 21 Wainwright, Alaska Dicrastorys taken at Wainwright. Aug 22 While having a talk with Royal Sharke today I found out that while he was at the Fifth River, where it joins Mancha River near the U.S. - Canadian border, he observed what he thought was probably a population high for Microtus minoris. He stated the the Micrines were Microtus and most likely, he thought, minoris His observations were somewhat restricted to an island where he was camped at the junction of the aforementioned rivers. He states that the mice may have been restricted to this island. Prepared study skins and took data from the seven Dicrastorys obtained at Wainwright recently. Processed more of last year's Wainwright Lemmus Aug 23 Processed Lemmings all day. Set out traps at transect III A and III B. Four lines of traps returned yesterday from Wainwright. It had not been possible to bring traps back to Baner before this date. Aug 24 In the morning I was flown off to the Pitmegea River at Cape Sabine where Hank Child is staying. Flew with Max Britton, Max Brewer and Bobby Fischer as pilot. We left Banor at 1300. Saw several snowy owls on the way (see specch.) At 1330 we passed
