call Phoca vitulina the "spotted seal" I paid
Wai $3.00 for the skull.
During a walk I took the day before yesterday
I came upon an old eskimo site about 1.5 or
2 miles SW of the Village. Here I found a pair
of labrets, a net gauge, and a netting needle
as well as two handles and spear points.
The plane arrived at 1030 but was going
to Pt Lay and to Hank Child at the Pitmegea
and therefore did not return until 1500.
When it landed, Ed Klyth was on the plane
returning from the Pitmegea; there were also
two native ladies and a baby venturing to go to
Barrow. It turned out that Peter Lockhart took
Ed, the old eskimo lady and her baby and me.
The weather as usual was extremely foggy and
it was very interesting to listen GCA lead use
into the airstrip; talking constantly to Parker
giving him his location. During the remainder
of the day got settled in lab.
