M. Brock 1958 Journal July 27 Barrow, Alaska Edwardson Jr. brought the bird to the lab and stated that he had shot it this morning out from the point about one mile north. He said the bird had been flying overhead. I paid him a dollar for the bird. July 28 With Tom's assistance, traplines I, II, III and IV were set out. Processed Wainwright lemmings all day. July 29 Checked all four transects in the morning and afternoon. No lemmings caught only a few birds. Processed Wainwright lemmings. July 30 All four traplines were checked in morning and afternoon - only a few birds caught. Processed Wainwright lemmings. July 31 Check the four traplines in the morning and caught a female Lemmus in trapline IX at stake 9,0 Processed lemmings during the day. With Tom's assistance, I retrieved traplines I and II and III and IV. Line checked at some time and only a few more bird taken. Traplines VII and VIII set out. August 1 Checked trapline in the morning. Processed lemmings during the day. I still [illegible] cannot
