M. Brock Journal 1957 Banow, northern Alaska Sept 1 wet (inundated). (see transect data for VIII) Various lemming and ground squirrel study skins prepared. Sept 2 Packing and cleaning the lab. Phil Zarollik went out hunting and shoot a moose near the gas well. Hide and head of the animal will probably be deposited at A.R.K. Sept 3 More packing and cleaning of the lab. Bill Mather and I went to the point and dug for artifacts - many were uncovered and brought back to the lab. Sept 4 Prepared to leave on plane, and our (Bill and myself) schedule was all upset when the plane arrived on time and we weren't quite ready. Left Banow at about 1230 by Weir airlines. Bill Mather was left off at Unriat. Plane arrived at Fairbanks shortly after 1600. Flight from Fairbanks to Seattle will be at 2200 by Pan American Sept 5 Left Fairbanks a few minutes after the scheduled departure and arrived in Seattle a little too late to make the plane scheduled for Oakland.
