M. Brock 1957 Journal Barrow, Northern Alaska Aug 24 lab. I am not sure what I shall do with all the fitters when it is time to leave Barrow. Aug 25 Traplines VII and IX were checked in the morning and evening. Lemmings were processed in cooperation with Henry Child so that we processed about a hundred lemmings Aug 26 Checked traplines in morning and evening and processed lemmings during the day. Hank Childs left Barrow today for home. Aug 28 Traplines VII and X picked up in the morning. Lemmings processed during the day. Traplines XII and XIII set out in central marsh area is extremely wet and does not look like it will yield any catches. I am not going to run XI and XII because they are very well under water and it appears to be more inundated then earlier in the season. According to Dr. Royal Shanko apparently this area is wetter this season then usual. Aug 27 Checked Traplines VII and IX Processed lemmings all day.
