M. Brock 1957 Journal Aug 14 Wainwright, Northern Alaska He went and got it. My plane came at about 1400 and took me to Pt. Layoff to the Pitmeaga River to join Henry Childs for a week. Pitmeaga River, Cape Sabine, Northern Alaska After Pete Merry (pilot) landed at the Pitmeaga, Ward Solomon, Childs eskimo companion got ready to leave. After they had I looked about the area settled my equipment and had dinner. I checked trapline in the evening with Childs. Saw many jaegers (all three types) Glaucous Gulls in front of camp site. Longspurs are also common. Aug 15 Checked traplines with Childs in the morning. Walked over to a "lithosol" area where wheatears were seen and I am shot (see up account). A duck Chauk was also seen, returned to camp after walking out to the Cape (Sabine). Prepared two of the wheatears as study skins. Aug 16 Took a walk out to the various "lithosol" areas and not a wheat ear could be found. Yesterday
