M. Brock 1957 Journal Aug 13 Wainight, Northern Alaska which was found in the first shipment of 200 lemmings from the Crawfolds at Wainight to Barrow; I was asking the Crawfolds whether they were aware of the fact that there were two kinds of lemmings, and finally Mrs. Crawford said she did recall seeing the "one different one", as I described it. She recalled that the little boy that caught it wanted to know about it at the time. Therefore the Dicrostonyx did rather definitely come from Wainight. Aug 14 Packed and was waiting for the plane that would take me to the Pitmeza at 0930. Went to talk to Horner Bodfish (Wainight Weir employee) to get him to send some of my jink back to Barrow. He confirmed one plane was making two trips, I would leave in afternoon. Bill Maker arrived from his Koolok trip and was flown back to Barrow on the first trip.
