M. Brock 1957 Journal Aug 8 Wainight, Northern Alaska Transsects I and II were checked at 2030 with a smaller catch of lemmings then in the morning. The plane came in again today with my shotgun and personal belongings Aug 9 Traps checked at 0900 with a very large catch of lemmings once again. (See Thomeet notes) Plane came in again today and brought the Coleman stove, Two lemmings were seen morning during the morning check of the traps. Took a walk along beach and over tundra to Administrators cabin out at the point about 3.5 miles from Wainight No lemmings were seen during the walk. Transsect checked in evening - no lemmings at all caught in transect II while transect I only had a few. Aug 10 Traps I and II checked at 0900 Once again a fair amount of lemmings caught Yesterday a small amount of rain fell. Today it has been raining lightly all day - may set off some traps
