E.M. Brock 1957 Journal July 14 Barow, Northern Alaska Transects IV A and IV B checked in morning and evening. Four young snowy owls have been shipped to A.Pik...Three arrived alive yesterday the fourth was prepared as a study skin today. A fledgling red-backed sandpiper and red phalarope were also prepared as study skins. July 15 Tom Cade went to Point Izey, so now it has fallen upon me to feed two gyrfalcons, three snowy owls and a multitude of lemmings. Checked traps in transects IV A & IV B in mornings and evenings. A utilization check was made for both transect XI and XII. One piedral sandpiper prepared as study skin and several lemmings processed July 16 Checked Transects IV A & IV B and still no lemmus had been caught in Transect IV and and therefore transect was left out. Rechecked transect I & II and VII for "prior activity" signs. When I first stated making utilization checks I entered (for those three lines) under
